Trade Missions

Trade missions represent one of the best ways for California companies to gain a foothold in international energy markets. In cooperation with foreign governments, the California Energy Commission arranges trade missions as a way to open windows of opportunity for California energy company executives wishing to access energy officials and decision-makers of foreign governments.

Before the missions, the Energy Technology Export Program staff works closely with foreign governments, utilities, and trade organizations to determine the exact energy needs and available energy resources of countries to be visited. A typical trade mission consists of conferences, workshops, and energy site visits that often lead to business partnerships between California companies and the government and private sectors of the host country.
